Ms. Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North, hosted a Youth Career and Job Fair this past weekend to help connect local employers with youth aged 15 to 30 looking for summer, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities.
“As a young Canadian, finding a job can be difficult. Finding your first job can be even more difficult,” said MP Sahota. “I heard this concern from parents at the door steps, from youth on my Youth Council, and from employers in our community.”
The Federal Liberal Government has made post-secondary education more affordable, invested in work-integrated learning programs, created new student work placements, and doubled funding to the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which created over 200 summer jobs rights here in Brampton North every summer.
“The success of the fair is a reflection of all the progress our Liberal government has made in growing the economy, creating jobs, reducing unemployment to historic lows, and investing in our next generation,” said MP Sahota. “The feedback was extremely positive from employers and all the youth that attended, and I look forward to continuing to host similar community events in the months to come.”
