26/06/2017 – Ottawa, Ontario – Ms. Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North, is excited to announce the start of new Greyhound Bus Lines going from Toronto Pearson International Airport to ten regional cities in Southern Ontario. This announcement was made in partnership with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), Tourism Industry of Ontario (TIAO), and Greyhound Canada.
MP Sahota was proud to be on hand for this announcement, as it will bring increased regional connectivity in Southern Ontario. This new service to ten regional cities in Southern Ontario provides residents with better access to Toronto Pearson`s global connectivity, while offering visitors a convenient connection to tourism destinations and attractions across the province.
This is a great benefit to the Greater Toronto Area as it will shift people out of single cars, which will then reduce congestion and support a more sustainable transportation network. This addition of bus service will give passengers more options when planning travel to and from the airport, and will help Brampton and surrounding cities reach its full growth potential and allow Southern Ontario to avail itself of the significant economic benefits that are part and parcel of this growth.
“I applaud GTAA, TIAO and Greyhound Canada for embarking on this partnership to increase regional connectivity and provide visitors with access to surrounding tourism destinations” said MP Sahota. “Our Government was elected on a commitment to decrease commute times, cut air pollution, strengthen our communities and grow our economy. In addition to our investment in public transit, this new transit service will create further high quality, affordable transit options for Canadians.”
